HP Officejet 7200 unable to scan

I installed the All-in-One Driver for this wonderful machine, printing worked fine, but when I tried scanning no cigar.
I would start the HP Solution Center and it would give me some kind of error about not being able to connect to the scanner. Oh well, tried and true: remove all driver and software.
Thank you HP for having L3_Uninstall.bat it resides somewhere in your temporary files.
I found it (under Vista) here: C:\Users\{My_User}\AppData\Local\Temp\7z{rand}.tmp\util\ccc\

Here you have a couple of scripts that will remove your printer's driver and software at different levels. L4 being the highest level and removing everything. (L3 seemed sufficient according to some KB article)

Well, this solved part of the problem.

Now HP scanning would start. but once I would tell it to scan I would get the following message: "An Unexpected Internal Error Has Occurred". The program would offer me the following options: restartig the application, restarting the computer, or reinstalling the application.

Well I tried all 3, nothing happened.

Thank G-d for Google, I found the following article from HP. Although the Officejet 7200 is not mentioned there, it seemed to give a solution after I had already tried the first solution here and before trying solution 3 mentioned here (By the way this last article gives the exact error I was receiving).

Being cautious, I renameKYGRPRes.dll to KYGRPRes.dll.bak instead of deleting it as advised in the article. I tried running the scanning software. It gave me an error.

Reinstall the HP software. No go.

Rename KYGRPRes.dll.bak to KYGRPRes.dll well that did it. I couldn't believe it. It fixed everything.

That's it for now
